Re: Which carburator rebuild kit do I need?
Thanks for the replies. I noticed that the fan kicks in when hot, but this is a separate fan temperature switch right? And the temperature on the dash is also rising does that use the temperature sensor? I'm not sure about the management system for the SD3, but the K-Series uses separate sensors fo...

Re: Which carburator rebuild kit do I need?
If there’s an engine coolant temperature sensor, I’d be starting by checking that and the resistance of it. You ideally need the expected values, but as a rule resistance should fall the hotter the coolant. If the temperature sensor is reporting incorrect values, the ECU won’t richen the fuel mixtur...

Re: Rover 416 over reving
Hi Nick, I did try to respond to your PM about the throttle body cable but it looks like PM receipt is disabled on your account. The cable should come out of the stay fine - if you study the throttle body you should see a slot where if you rotate the cable in the right direction, it can pass through...

'508' error
No, not a large Peugeot, but the forum!
I keep getting a '508 - Insufficient Capacity' error when trying to load the forum. It's totally random and not page dependent, and has happened on multiple devices.
Anyone else experiencing this?

Re: Rover 416 over reving
No problem. If that brings no joy, I’d take a look at the idle control valve next. The piston in these is prone to sticking, although I’d suggest given your symptoms occur when the car is warm, the plastic TB warping is more likely to be the cause.

Re: Rover 416 over reving
There are two alternatives - a metal 48mm (the same size as your original plastic one) or a larger metal 52mm, which is fitted to ZR160, MG TF 160 etc models. The 52mm will fit straight on and possibly provide brighter throttle response. It may be at the expense of smoother transition between closed...

Yes, it was standard fit to later R8 200 SEi models, as well as some Coupes and R8 400 saloons.

Re: 45 heated seats
The main thing to do is check there's power going to the heated seat element. If there is - the element pad is the culprit. No idea if the 45 pads are still available but I snaffled pretty much seemingly the last NOS 75 one some years ago for mine - it's a job best left to a trimmer to strip the sea...

Re: Rover 416 over reving
If the car has a plastic throttle body fitted, these are prone to sticking. There was a TSB to fit to a metal throttle body to cure the issue. It could otherwise be a sticking idle air control valve mounted on the inlet manifold (working on the assumption you have a plastic inlet manifold - we haven...
