Defo needed a swap like, I put in neat OAT, I never add water, can't see it being an issue.

Theres around 20% water left around the block anyway so you get some dilution but much better to use a coolant flush first.

But that's for next time :cool

WOW, a year since we got the window fixed ! :blink

Since last Jan we have a fresh MOT and I replaced the thermostat housing with another factory unit with more fresh OAT,
heater is back working fully and obviously the engine now gets upto the proper temp.

The boot lock was also sticking and not engaging properly and you had to slam it, I stripped it all down, scrapped off all
the corrosion and greased it up with copper slip, works perfectly now.

Had a busy weekend, I had to use Brian for work as the Mrs stole the Dis-ASTRA and its derv economy and buggered off
to Scotland so I was hoping for the weather to hold out and do essential repairs and it did, bit cold and overcast today but
I grew a pair and cracked on.

The tailgate loom needed repairing so I used my China special dodgy gas soldering iron of death from ebay and added some
new wires in between the breaks, everything now works and not hanging down temp fixed with gaffer tape.

I also fixed the split rear wash hose, refitted all the tailgate internal trims that have been in the boot for 18 months and I
replaced the rear wiper blade, lack of screen wash out of it destroyed the blade wiping a dry screen.

Another non-essential job I wanted to do also got done, I acquired a throttle cable off an MG ZR and fitted it along with a
spare de-restricted throttle body I had lying around, the car goes much better now, getting all the horses the 1.4 has to
offer, really gets off the mark now.

FUTURE JOBS

Cam Carrier Seal and Cam Seals are leaking oil badly.
The Radio has some kind of electrical fault on the loom, either power or the speakers, stumped what it is to be honest.

Thats is for another year probably. :laughing2

Finally, I got an interesting speedo reading though. :D

HGF FTW !!!! :clapping

out of the rear of the head too, also has a massive oil leak.
