New forum URL

Liking the new homepage!

When accessing the forum via the new URL it's asking me to sign in every time even though I tick the "remember me" box.

Any ideas?

Sorry for any confusion over the website and forum. I had hoped the transfer to the new website would happen seamlessly with all of the domain names going across at more or less the same time. But the wonders of the world wide web dictate otherwise! So depending on which domain name you use, at the moment you will either see the new site or the old site!

The next stage is to update this forum to the latest version of software, but this won't happen until the website is fully transferred. In the meantime, the forum is being accessed by most via rovergroup.org.uk, so that may explain why some users are having to log in all the time. Hopefully this will be resolved after the update, so please bear with me until then.

When the forum is updated it will be necessary to take it offline for a few hours. If I can, I will do this tomorrow, but failing that I will leave it until either next week or the week after (with the NEC show things are going to be a bit hectic!). I will put an announcement on here and on the new website when it is going to happen.

Website and forum updates

Post by Colonel Mustard »

Transfer to the new website is now complete, so if you get any problems with the website please let me know.

I will now attempt to update the forum. :scared The forum will be unavailable from 10pm tonight (Sunday). I will try and make the down time as short as possible.

Please check the Club News page on the website for any updates whilst the forum is being updated.

Unfortunately there was no devine intervention, and so the forum remains as it is for the moment. :sad

Due to the NEC show I am not now going to have time to look at this agin until next week at the earliest. Apologies to those that are having to log in each time who didn't before. :blushing

if you can send me a copy of the db backup i'll see if it works any better on a clean build of phpbb rather than the template.

Forum update

Post by Colonel Mustard »

It's worked this time (I think!!) :)

We now have the latest version of Joomla for the website and the latest version of phpbb for the forum, so hopefully no more over-zealous security software warnings (at least for a while...).

Any problems please let me know.
