Tried the key in the drivers door thing again today and still immobilised. Looks like a new programmed key fob it is! I have one but it has never worked, I always used the other one which did (now lost). Please can someone tell me where the 5AS ECU is located? Or do instructions come with the order...

As is says in my signature, 1994 Rover 216 SLi it is also Auto 1.6 petrol with the honda engine, R8 platform.
Got a Lucas key fob that doesnt work.
Tried doing the key code in the drivers lock but its still immobilised.

After the car being stood for a year the battery was flat. Jumped using another car and alarm went off straight away. Now car is immobilised and will not turn over. Replaced fob battery. Thank you 99% of the time its the plastic buffer that wears away perhaps we could 3D print this part one day 🤔 That would be helpful as it seems to be a common problem.
