My lads new car - 1999 Rover 200

Post by kbonney88 »

Hi all, it seems that my lad has beaten me to getting a 200.. he is replacing his 1995 Rover 100 Metro with this 1.1 Rover 200.. chuffed to bits for him..

We will be picking it up over the next 2 weeks.. and fingers crossed - I should have my 216 Cabby then too..

point him to zr leather seats not covers.

Hard to find but will make the world of difference.
And when it gets time to change the tyres, look for a set of alloys on ebay/gumtree with so decent tread 4/100 pcd which should come in at roughly the same price as new tyres.

And, like i did with my cabby, when it breaks, replace it with the best products out there.

good idea about the wheels.. loads out there..

and regardign parts - I always do fit decent parts, as you know fit rubbish fit twice..

not worth it.. the cheaper parts don't seem to last 1/2 as long..

He's allowed seat covers if it's to protect the original fabric though, right? That seems fair.

So.. I picked the little 211 up from Paignton at the weekend..

and from Paignton via Salisbury and Wigan she is now in Perth Scotland...

She drove like a dream.. and returned a high MPG...

I have a few jobs to do on her - Sagging headlining, Bonnet cable, a scrape on the LHS rear wheel arch and passenger door mirror..

other than that the car seems to be fine.. drives like a 67,000 mile car as she is..

Also - I have put her in for an MOT today too, as its due...

so fingers crossed...
