Fleet Update!

Post by Tam »

Bit of a fleet update. Purchased a rough bodied but mechanically OK 220 Sli. It's had loads of bits and pieces done for the last 2 MOT's and as such drives really well. Really like the T series engine just purrs along instead of the buzz of the 214. Much comfier seats as well :)
Really it needs 2 new wings (are new wings available oem or pattern?) and 2 new sills along with rear arches again if available.
Front window is a bit slow up and down also the central locking solenoid is gubbed on the drivers side. Plenty more bits of bodywork and little things like a clock bulb.
Really is a pleasure to drive and you can't see most of the rust from inside anyway :tt2 OH and the rear bumper is a bit lighter than it should be due to a rather creative solution to fitting the towbar :*laughing my fat rear end off*

Nice pics Tam.. and I have to say the 220 drives lovely.. and in my eyes the 2.0 engine is the right engine for the R8.. feels right and responds like it should and allows the car to keep up with everything.. I loved my drive in it..

Kev :)
