My 220 is suffering persistant leaks from the PAS return pipe. I fix a leak at one end, and it starts leaking from the other. As a lot of the T-series PAS hoses & pipes are NLA, Im looking at making up my own replacements.
From checking the R3 L series PAS pipe diagrams i think they can be modified to fit the T series R8.
Can I get away with deleting the original cooler or does it need to be part of the PAS circuit? I know the R3 200 does not have one so i cant see why its needed.
Thoughts and advice please

You are in luck (I think) as myself working with Gti John have started the process of getting them manufactured.
John will hopefully fill in the gap shortly.
What parts are being manufactured?
On mine the cooler pipes are ok, it more a case of everything rubber leaks and the pipe unions weep

Unless you are intending doing a lot of lock to lock manoeuvring in very hot weather you are unlikely to need the cooler!
If Its not needed it would make my job a lot easier.
The main reason i want to use modified L series pipes is
because the original routing is a pita to work on.
Also using this layout would allow me to build the pipework from scratch if i can't get the donor parts.

The later R8 I have seen 1995 onwards didn't have these pipes ( back of the fridge look ) and worked fine , I remade mind a couple of years ago and went to a hydraulic company for the rubber hose and connector .
I've talked to Brakequip in Chorley and they currently have a number of Craig's parts as samples.
The demand doesn't warrant remanufacture of parts for stock but they will make you a pipe if you get in touch with them. This was mainly to help with leaks from the metal pipes and from much-needed hoses.
If It is the rubber hose and/or joints on the low -pressure side then, as suggested, you've got a few more diy options
I like Twin Cams.... and Single Cams...and now Turbos

It looks like they did a good job with those
I tried my local Hydraulic hose place when the metal high pressure pipe sheared off on mine a few years ago, Took the pipe down to have it repaired and they said its automotive so only the manufacturer does them.
It p***ed me off a bit as all it took to repair in the end was a compression fitting to join the two ends back together

Thank you , I bent the pipes and they hydraulic company did the rubber and end fitting .
Still don't understand why we need them and the later cars didn't, is there a difference in the pump and rack anyone ?
