Does anyone know or can tell me where to find out when the 218sld was first introduced? I’ve found it was introduced in 1991 but would like to know the month. The reason I’m asking is I’ve just bought a 1991 218sld that was registered in April 91 but when I search for parts it always states 09/91-10/94. Do I have a pre release vehicle or something and will the parts be the same?

The diesels were launched in March 1991. I wouldn't take too much notice of the dates shown on parts selectors, they are often wrong.

It is an early one I’ve got then as it was registered on 5th of April 91, needs a bit of work but it’s actually mot’d till tomorrow 2/5/22 and only showing 58000 miles

the date from 09-91 is generic release dates given by manufacturers and often out by months, use the engine code for a more accuracy parts search with the date as it can give a hint as to change over or parts being superseded, the engine IIRC was PSA Peugeot engine (XuD7 TE turbo 2nd iteration because of the original XuD7K’s were made for the Citroens had lower BHP output unucky for them or the Xud9 non turbo) used in the 409 Peugeot.
