Rover 25 / MG ZR Bonnet Gas Struts Lifter Kit

Post by Dorchester »

I've just got an advert from Mat & Scott for bonnet lifters.
https://www.dmgrs.co.uk/products/rover- ... 565f&_ss=r
Never heard of that... Has anybody already tried those? Is there any good?
Any possibility to adapt them to R8 series?
I'm tempted...
Thanks for your advice.

Interesting device. I've just ordered 2 kits, one for the missus' 25 and one for my 214 cabby.
Lots of thanks to both of you RoverRevival & Roverlike.
I'd already bought 2 years ago a Dark Ice front strut brace which were fitted in the cabby.
I was irresolute (and still I am!) about the back one, I fear it may impede the boot load space.

Phew! Just in time.
I've managed to buy the last 2 ones from DMGRS: now the bonnet gas strut lifters for 25/ZR are sold out! :o
I've just had a look under both bonnets: 25 & 214 look pretty similar and I'm pretty amazed to notice that holes & bolts were already in place and ready for improvement. :D
How brilliant is that: no drilling and no welding to do! :clapping

At last it arrived!
I'm talking of my Bonnet Gas Struts Lifter Kit, ordered from DMGRS the 12th of May last and arrived today 31st same month, nearly 3 weeks...
But it's not at all Mat & Scott's fault, it's partly mine and mainly FedEx! DMGRS send them at once.
I wasn't at home when FedEx scheduled the delivery hence I'd the liability to ask for another day. Among the choice I choose the 23rd they offered me.
Fair enough but I waited the whole Monday and no delivery.
I asked for my lifters by phone the day after, the problem was in France but they only took note of my demand and that was it.
Not any information during the whole week until this morning when I was told they were due to arrive today : neither explanation nor apologies.

I'm fed up of FedEx: clowns!

Other than that, easily fitted on both missus' daily (Rover 25) and my cabby! :D
