Hi just joined I purchased a rover 214 SLI from a scrap yard from eBay for restoration it runs and drives no smoke high clutch , just dropped all the fluids full service and fully test — I had one new in 1992 so my family think I am having I late life crisis and I will if the head gasket has gone :|

Talk to Jon at A.E.Wilcox regarding spares the build order changes quite frequently; you want the early petrol filter Jon has them [do a search on here] The clutch is always high look at the spring on the release lever. Buy brakes from him he knows what he's looking at, your car will have the 232mm solid disks. Renew the cooling system, pay particular attention to the steel pipe underneath the manifold. Don't put synthetic oil in it!

They go really well with the alloy inlet manifold! make sure the brakes are A1!

Happy driving.
