Leather steering wheel

Post by Kieran94 »

Hi,

I have an early 216 GSi on a 'G' plate, was there an option for a leather steering wheel? Before I bought the cari thought that they came with leather wheels as standard but its a naff plastic :/ Not the most tactile of materials!! :sad
I don't mind too much about cost, but I would love some help from the experts on this one!! If there was where could I get one from??

Cheers guys!!

There is one but it wasn't an option on the 216 GSi, I don't think.

To my recollection it came in with the 416GTi but it is easy to retro-fit.

Rimmer Bros still sell it - http://www.rimmerbros.co.uk/Item--i-EFP6835PMP

It's currently £50+ but they did have a sale a while back and were selling them for ten or fifteen quid

The sale was a couple of years back and they are the small rim type - they feel slightly smaller diameter than the standard plastic wheel.

The best wheel, in my mind, is the Tomcat non-airbag leather one. But they're hard to find......
